And it seems that Amazon may be about to transform our purchasing habits all over again.
The retailer has started selling food and household products on its website, in a move that threatens the dominance of online supermarkets such as Tesco, Ocado, Asda and Sainsbury’s.
Amazon’s new grocery store stocks 22,000 brands, including Walkers, Kraft and Pampers, and rewards customers for buying in bulk.
As well as everyday products, the UK site offers gourmet goods such as pheasant, partridge and award-winning cheeses that are not available in mainstream stores.
Deals include a whole lamb for £119.95, and bulk packs of quality meat and fish.
